Students at the Marine Mammal Research Group come with a broad cross-section of interests and experiences. They conduct scientific research on marine mammal distribution, population biology, genetics, social organization and behaviour as well as conservation. Some of the species studied include humpback whales, Australian fur seals, Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins, wobbegong sharks, common dolphins, Chilean dolphins, Weddell seals, and blue whales.
