This Guide is not a definitive statement of University policy on writing. It was prepared to help students reach a satisfactory standard in their written work.
Specific requirements are given in the University Calendar and in the 1999 edition of the Handbook for Postgraduate Research Candidates for prescribed work in doctorate and masters degrees such as theses, dissertations and research projects.
This Guide delimits a style to be generally followed for class assignments. In case of conflict with a unit outline or with the documents mentioned above the outline or document requirements take precedence.
The Guide is evolving due to suggestions and corrections over past years. If you see an inconsistency or inaccuracy, please contact the School with the details.
